This is amazing and goes to show how long it can take to make something so simple and beautiful and what many people think would only take 2 seconds. Good design takes time people: (Make sure you look at this in Safari or Chrome to get the full benefit.

So after my blog regarding Safari 5 & the “Reader Feature” the other side of the argument has come out with those saying that it is not a bad thing and it should force designers to re-think how to create a page…”less is more?”
Anyway, this is other really cool article from Webmonkey:

I’m undecided as of yet as to whether reader is a good thing or not. I tried it on my homepage and I like the way everything was displayed. I tried it on my “Services” page however, and it did not work…it would appear there is no support for iframes.
Interestingly, the further reading links at the bottom of the page suggest how designers should bin photoshop when designing websites…shocking!! or not really for me, as I don’t use it. Anyway, you can read more here:

Interesting stuff here for all those presentation lovers out there. What happens if you forget your presentation and all your files are at home and not stored on the cloud? You go here:

This is probable they best example of HTML 5 to date, as Webmonkey go on to explain HTML 5 is more than just video and if you click the link below you will see how Apple’s new Safari 5 is amazing but is a potential web designers nightmare as we spend all this time making our sites look good only for Apple to come along and with the click of a button remove all our images and video

More HTML 5 fun…but hey it’s got Rick in it…if you can get it to work. You may be bored of my blogging on HTML 5, but because it’s still not mainstream, there are so many hidden gems out there that pass you by. Again, this example can have glitches…but it brings us another step closer to improving HTML 5 standards:

Ok, so this is not really design news unless you’re a developer…o wait…some of you are developers…ok well then this is the new rival format to the H.264 codec for web video. It brings more hope to those Apple lovers who can’t use Flash:

Here is something really cool…in theory 100 websafe fonts!! They are designed to be more functional with CSS3 standards. http://code.google.com/webfonts
The official blurb goes:
“The Google Font Directory lets you browse all the fonts available via the Google Font API. All fonts in the directory are available for use on your website under an open source license and are served by Google servers.
View font details to get the code needed to embed the font on your web site. Please also visit our quick start guide and FAQ page. For more help and suggestions, use our moderator page“
This is quite an exciting little source from Webmonkey. Not only does it explain in a snapshot how the design process works for constructing a website but also how web tools are constantly evolving for the good.
A feature like this would lead to more efficiency and profitability within the industry.

I came across this video again that I seen maybe a month or so ago, but’s still just as funny. How fast is Google Chrome?…faster than a Tesla Coil or a potato?
